With a focus on finish carpentry and efficient planning, Jack has designed and built dozens of new homes and remodeling projects throughout the South Coast of Massachusetts. With years of experience and attention to the Architectural details that make a home appealing and beautiful, Jack has been a passionate force in creating what his clients have envisioned.

Our History
Artifex was established in 2015 by Jack W. Resendes, as an Architectural Design Build company, focusing on the Architectural planning and Construction of residential remodels and new homes. From its earliest days, Artifex distinguished itself by focusing on carefully designed buildings that were carefully planned and beautifully built.

At Artifex, we use this maxim as the primary guideline in the working relationship with clients. What is it that you are really expecting when purchasing an Artifex Studio…?
That question seems obvious on the surface, but our experience has taught us that getting to the heart of those answers is what makes a project truly successful. Though its safe to say that everyone wants it done right and cheap, beautiful and hassle free, there are a number subjective variables that go into what ‘cheap’ means, what ‘hassle free’ means, and even what ‘right’ means. At Artifex, we make it a point to explain every facet of the process ahead of time so that you know what to expect throughout the entire process. Though you will have detailed explanations of costs provided to you in the initial Project Estimate, you will also have explained to you what happens when any changes happen you may decide on to that original agreement. Changes and unplanned things happen all the time, and sometimes things just happen that are unexpected or out of ones control, so having expectations understood, with contingencies put in place beforehand, helps alleviates any issues that may happen. From delays that arise with Town permitting, stock material hold ups, weather related setbacks, or you simply may have decided you want to add or eliminate a particular part of the project, having expectations understood beforehand is the first step in working through those issues, so we can focus on the end result.
With all that said, we at Artifex are professionals, so by the nature of our training and experience, we manage and minimize any issues before they arise. Working with us, you can expect at the very minimum, responsibility and commitment to those expectations, with our goal being, to exceed them. At the very end, along with years of enjoyment from your Artifex Studio, we want you to have a good experience, and share with you friends and neighbors, that your experience working with us was a good one.
